HOMEWOOD
Fabrication Shop & Offices
To better serve the needs of the multifaceted business, EngineHouse purchased two adjacent structures - one a former cabinet shop which we extensively renovated to become our principal woodshop and office space, and the other a large facility for material and equipment storage as well as our metal shop.
While we were careful to honor the history of the building and its materials, Kelly Street underwent considerable changes including: sandblasting ceilings; installing new roofs and gutters; framing and finishing new spaces within; fabricating douglas fir window sashes for every double hung window; designing and building countless shop fixtures and storage solutions; repairing, refinishing, and replacing flooring, including shop fabricated white oak tongue and groove in the offices and conference room; restoring radiators and mechanicals; setting up an updated finishing booth complete with a multistory conveyor system; plus installing modern LED lighting throughout. Many industrial machines were purchased and/or refurbished to suppliment our exisiting production tooling to complete the extensive woodshop space. Hamilton received similar attention in order to house our metal fabrication, pallet racking, and jobsite tool storage to support our crews, as well as a secondary spray finishing booth.
