SOLDIERS & SAILORS MEMORIAL HALL & MUSEUM

Niche Display Cases

Built into the building’s unique arch-topped niches, these modern display cases bring the viewing experience and archival features into the 21st century, while reflecting the austere institutional nature of the Memorial Hall and its exhibits.

A large, single pane glass door swings open allowing full access to the case interior for curators and, when closed, provides an unbroken viewing window for visitors. The jamb and door structures are fabricated from machined and welded steel which are powder coated for long term durability. Dimmable, configurable LED lighting is used to highlight the objects on display and rechargeable desiccant cassettes control internal humidity alongside gasketed joints and seals for a contained internal environment.

This first case was constructed as a prototype and EngineHouse is currently in the process of fabricating further cases with the intent of replacing all of the buildings thirty plus niche displays over time.
