The patio at the Round Corner Cantina is a staple of summer nightlife in Pittsburgh. EngineHouse renovated the patio in multiple iterations throughout the years. First, we built the outdoor bar using reclaimed, 100-year-old wood from The Round Corner's interior. For the most recent renovation, we took the existing timber-framed structure down to its core and built it back up into a more full-featured three season space. The new walls feature a natural plaster finish and custom cast plaster candle nooks. We updated the roof and added new textures and lighting to the ceiling. We also installed accent lighting throughout the space to fit any mood or event. Due to rotting of the existing timber posts, we made custom cast concrete bases formed to the profile of each post.
